A discussion on attitudes about persons with a developmental disability
and/or a mental illness, including respect, dignity and positive
interactions. Review the principles of Social Role Valorization
and Normalization and their practical application. Discuss strategies
to successfully integrate people into their community; attitudes
and strategies when working with and communicating with families.
Discussion of TTC and DDD mission and values.

Licensing
An overview of DES/DDD Residential Licensing Regulations. Employees
apply the licensing standards by conducting an inspection of the
setting.
Nutrition and Menu Planning
A review of the Five Food Groups. Instruction in safety and sanitation
principles in regard to food preparation and storage. Emphasis on
planning well balanced and varied menus.
Sign Language
An overview of American Sign Language includes both beginning and
Intermediate skill building.
